An Excerpt from my Short Story 'Goodbye Ol Friend'
John Crawford and Benne Davis had only been roommates for a year, but they become good friends in that time. It may have helped that they had known each other before hand. Not closely, maybe a shared class or two, but there was this minute friendship. John remembered the day well. When he returned to the illustrious campus of North Carolina Private Institute (NCPI). He had reserved the same on campus apartment as last year, but the situation with his last roommate hadn’t worked out. Alonzo and John never really clicked. This kind of thing happens all the time. When two people with wildly different personalities gets slammed together. . . it can bolster destructive results. As such, John was pleasantly surprised when he returned to his old room, and found Benne already there, folding up his clothes neatly.
